Except it’s about 3 weeks too early.

So what’d I do over spring break? Sit and watch snow melt. Yep, it’s been 40 degrees and snowy the entire week. So much for enjoying good weather. Lousy school decides to have spring break during a time when nobody else has it and it’s still cold outside.

Since I’ve got nothing to do, it’s back to homework I guess. I got 3 assignments done for one of Julie’s classes, so she’ll probably be happy about that.

Oh yeah, and I guess I compiled the wrong version of Apache when I set up the new Flare server a couple weeks ago. Compiled 2.2.0 which is of course has an Apache Portable Runtime that is very different from the one currently installed. So, I merrily went to compile subversion and PHP and they decided to use the older runtime. I go off to make changes to the Flare source code and upon commit I get this funky error that has to do with an apr_off_t incompatibility between httpd and Subversion. Great. So I try to recompile Subversion using the newer apr, and of course, Berkeley DB is not linked to the newer apr. So I try to get the new BDB but of course it has a funky installer that doesn’t let you specify items to the configure script, or at least not specify an apr to link to. So now I’m back at square one. Recompiling Apache, PHP, and Subversion to use the older apr that is still working. Stupid code, stupid Apache putting all their downloads on one page.

In other news, I’ll be heading down to University of Illinois to compete in a security competition on March 24th. I’m not feeling too hot about it though because they haven’t given us much detail. I’m going with a group of 5 or 6 people though so hopefully we’ll be able to not lose all possible points…we’ll see.

That’s all I’ve got to say, later.
